Asset Preparation Recommendations

Before getting started, prepare your cubemap textures to ensure optimal performance and efficient file sizes.

  • Compress cubemap textures as 2048 × 1024 JPG images instead of PNG files.
  • JPG files are typically more efficient, providing great visual quality while helping reduce the overall effect file size.

Customize the Assets

The textures used for this effect are HDRI cubemap textures, which control the environment lighting and skybox.

You can customize the scene by replacing the existing cubemap with your own HDRI texture.

Prepare a Cubemap Texture

To get started, you'll need an HDRI cubemap texture.

You can either create your own HDRI texture or download and use the example file below to follow along with the steps in this tutorial.
